Love dancing ... great for the mind, body & soul ... Cornish dancer - set, step and the less formal "Nos Lowen" ("Happy Night" in Cornish) style. Workshop leader in Cornish social and step dance for schools, communities, festivals and special events. Dance leader for Nos Lowen events, and occasional caller for formal troyls/ceilidhs.

Toured and performed with Asteveryn, a demonstration/troyl (Cornish ceilidh) team (along with the 2 lads responsible for this site), member of SecondWave Dance and the odd spot of scootin' in Cornish sessions. Currently dancing with Kemysk (Cornish for "mixture", or "melange" in French) at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient ...

Wow! C'est formidable ici! Festival Interceltique de Lorient with pipe bands galore & dancing with some great folk in the troupe "Kemysk" (Cornish for "mixture", or "melange" in French).

We've danced Bodmin Riding, Tregajorran Furry & Newlyn reel in the huge parade (no 56 out of 73 groups!) and through Lorient FC stadium (guess the seated audience there was around, er, 10,000, give or take), accompanied by Cornish piper, Merv Davey.  Danced outside the Cornish marquee with the aid of pastys & pints courtesy of the Blue Anchor in Helston who've brought a bar over.  And had a lovely night on the outskirts of Lorient at a place called Lanester, with the wonderful Michelle introducing each set in French!  Thanks to our marvelous interpreter, Christian for taking the pics for us.

Great sets from Dalla too, at L'Espace Bretagne (boy, did those folk want to dance...Polperro Furry taught/learnt as the procession passed by, cabm pemps (or kabm pymps) and hand-in-hands ... a complete riot), and at the Palais de Congres.

Only one really wet night (and the whoops, don't wear sandals in this weather...landing on one's arse & virtually busting a wrist isn't such fun), otherwise it's been superb weather.

Couple of days off before Kemysk's one hour performance at L'Espace Marine, where the audience capacity is some 4,000...woot!

Tonight we're off to Ploemeur with Dalla for a set on the seafront ... gotta dash x
