Week 2 - Guitar and instrumental week
July 25th - July 30th, 2010
Some photos from Guitar and Instrumental Week, 2009.
Our Tutor team for 2010 includes the following tutors: Jack Evans, Pete Clark, Carol Anderson, John Carnie, Alan Jones, Nigel Gatherer, Shian Blackwood, Cathal McConnel, Duncan Wood, Maggie & Dick Trickey, Colin McNab, Graeme Gass.
Many of our tutors are multi-instrumentalists and there will be options available on a range of instruments. Jack Evans, John Carnie and Alan Jones are our principal guitar tutors, between them offering a range of styles and catering for players at all levels. Nigel Gatherer will concentrate on mandolin and mixed instrument sessions. We will cater for fiddle, whistle, smallpipes, harmonica / mouthorgan, bass and clarsach. After last year's huge success we also hope to create a ukulele orchestra.
We are planning to add a number of visiting musicians for workshops and masterclasses. We will also be including song, songwriting and performance elements to the week.
Several of our tutors are also singers - although the focus of the week is on the guitar, the guitar and singers are natural allies and song will have its place in the week.
We do our best to respond to the individual needs of our students and the exact programme will remain flexible until the start of the week.
