I don't disagree with you Alan. But we must recognise that this music has changed over the centuries. What is Celtic now may have had other descriptors in times past, and may have contributed to other cultures as well. The point is that such 'identities' evolve and often involve shared culture. Sometimes that shared culture cheerfully ignores both modern political boundaries and cultural preconceptions.

I reckon Celtic music is what you want it to be, but we shouldn't get too precious about it!
