NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE
ONE AND ALL: SPEAKING OUT WITH A CORNISH VOICE
A new Celtic Cornish radio programme is set to go live at 1000 hrs BST on Monday
19th July, 2010 and initially to broadcast for an hour weekly although it may
extend at a later date.
Entitled `One and All – Speaking out with a Cornish voice' , the programme will
be about Cornwall and the other Celtic Nations examining the Celtic Languages
and dialect, music and culture, campaigns and politics, place names and
surnames, heritage and history and much more including a weekly competition.
The host of the radio show will be Mike Chappell, Secretary of the Cornwall
Branch of the Celtic League who actively seeks people interested in being
interviewed on any Cornish, Celtic or related matter. Branch Treasurer, Tony
Leamon will handle the studio equipment.
Mike said:
"This is a real opportunity to air Cornish and Celtic issues and concerns which
are of direct interest to us all. I warmly invite anyone who wishes to
contribute by way of an interview be they campaigner, author, poet, artist,
sportsman whatever to please contact me and you are virtually assured of air
time to publicise and project your issue. I am not a professional broadcaster
but I intend to do my very best to bring to air all those issues the existing
radio stations refuse to contemplate. I am very grateful to Station Manager
Matthew Rogers for allowing us this programme"
Source FM which currently broadcasts from Tremough University in Penryn,
Cornwall may be heard on 96.1FM or online at www.thesourcefm.co.uk/listen
